In short no but a protective application of oil can enhance the wood grain and increase the lifespan of the furnishing.
Giving it a lush rich finish, Cedar left unoiled will eventually grey

Will the assembly screws leave unsightly marks in the cedar ?

We use special stainless steel self taping screw that will no tarnish the cedar, we also assemble our panels from behind as to leave the panels clean and flawless.
